Note new Mandatory Boating Education Laws for VA and NC

VA:  All jet ski operators under the age of 35

NC: All Boaters under the age of 26

In Virginia, there are many ways to comply with the boating safety education requirement.  Check out this link for classroom courses, internet courses, and challenge exams:

In North Carolina, boaters can complete the USCGA course (see schedule below) or get a certificate of completion from the US Power Squadron in their local area; completing an  NC Wildlife Resources class; or go on line to any of the following National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) endorsed sites (fees may vary):

US COAST GUARD AUXILIARY 2010 BOATING SCHEDULE

 

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary – Flotilla 9-3 (Flotilla 9, District 3) will provide seven classes for the  2010 Boating Safety Classes in the Lake Gaston Community (NC & VA)

 

The dates of the classes from March through Sept. will be held on the THIRD Saturday of each month and are:

Classes will be held from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. 

·        Participants are to bring a lunch as we work through lunch.

·        Cost is $30.00 per person. 

·        All materials are supplied by the CG Auxiliary

·        Location:  252 River Road, Henrico, NC 27842 (Flotilla 9-3 Building)
